November Update

“If you’re not growing you start dying.”

William S. Burroughs

Two months pass by quickly, as has this whole year when thinking about it. When I turned all my focus into my writing in the beginning of 2021., there was a lot for me to learn. Building my universe alone was a monster I couldn’t have predicted. When I opened up my old project a few years back, there were two short stories with plenty of potential, but I hadn’t realized they would grow into multiple stories that I had to tell. Just One has been a long passion of mine, one that has always come back to me.

Some stories simply demand to be told, and a writer cannot get over them until that mission is complete.

Yet, life always gets in the way. Since the end of September, a lot has happened. Working long hours in an industry that has exceptionally flourished post lockdown, when the people crave to go out, spend time with loved ones and simply not be at home obviously took its toll. On top it, some events in my personal life added to it hadn’t given me much time to focus on my online presence.

The creative mind however doesn’t falter once it’s been awakened, and in my case, I was finally able to devote myself to a standalone story that has “bothered” me since I returned to my project. You see, Just One is a series meant to expend under multiple titles, both along with it, there are a few standalone stories that further explain or enrich it. The backstory, if you will. Working out that backstory has been a bit of a pet peeve over the course of the last year as I tried to figure out the details, the reasons why my series has come to be. For every action, there is a reaction. My series is a reaction to these events, but ironing them out and putting them into a well-rounded story proved to be a bit of a challenge for me to conquer. I’m very happy therefore that in the past couple of months I have managed to outline it and build the characters that will have been only teased in the basic series.

Other projects have, because of this, taken a bit of a back burner. They too will come to pass in times to come, since a stubborn person doesn’t give up! 😊

Been busy going through my lessons of marketing and business as well. The brilliant course I took this year, the LMA with Tim Han has been a great mind opener into my own mind and heart, allowing me to leaving my comfort zone in many ways I did not take possible. I’m confidant in time more will come in this regard. In addition, for years I’ve followed the work of T. Harv Eker, whose teachings while primarily in the field of business have taught me plenty and provide a lot of free lectures on the subjects of marketing and business, growing online presence. As the quote above says: “If you’re not growing you start dying.” It’s something I’ve learned to be absolutely true this year.

So, stay tuned while I get back to the swing of things and just wait. Plenty more to come from me. Keep watch on my social media accounts for updates.

Thanks for reading! ~ Love, L.V.
