Character Introduction
Welcome to another segment of Character Introduction, a weekly blog post where we step into the domain of this author’s characters, whether they’re from the Just One universe or another. Rebecca Jordan has been mentioned here as a love interest for Felicity Dimitrov and Eveleen’s best friend.
Who is Rebecca Jordan?
Becca has a special place in my heart. The innocent human of the storyline. Her father is the mayor of Colletown, and mother a prominent lawyer. As their eldest, she’s expected to do great things. The thing is, Rebecca’s meant for very different extraordinary things, and was born for them. She’s had a crush on Felicity for a long time, but when she is approached by the stunning blue-eyed alien, she’ll expect a prank because why would the most beautiful girl in school want to talk to little ol’ her?
Yes. Becca is that sweet, innocent girl.

Things, of course, will not be straightforward for the love story because not only can Becca help Felicity set free from the past (right?), but Feli can help Becca unlock her hidden gifts. Truth is, there’s always been something about Rebecca that drew Eveleen and Felicity to her. While she’s the only Jordan who gets much attention in Just One (earlier drafts gave Trevor Jordan, her father, some, but I chose to leave it for part two Edge of Never and part three Weight of the World).
As a writer I love the way Rebecca arrived into this chaos, not just by spending time with Felicity and what this awakens in her, but also the way she’s looking into the storyline from an outside point of view. She’s not one of them, she’s not in any harms away when she’s not involved… yet, her best friend and the girl she likes will have a hard time staying away from her because there’s just something about Becca. It’s also the way she comprehends things, and how easily she falls into it once she sees.
Our aliens all have gifts that make them stand out among the humans. Most of them are subtle, and help with everyday lives while others are extraordinary and it would be dangerous for the world around them to find out. Rebecca’s very different in this sense. She doesn’t just have gifts, which will manifest later on, but she has talents that had already been active before she’s dropped into our adventure.
Her Appearance
Becca has curly black hair, dark brown eyes and dark skin. For a long time now, I’ve seen her as the adorable Aisha Dee. She was an accident find, but her pictures had that sweet but super clever vibe that I was looking for when it came to Rebecca.
Her skin colour is influenced by the fact that for years, I’ve imagined Denzel Washington as the mayor of Colletown. I’ll tell you about Trevor Jordan some other time, but for now, you should know he’s why Rebecca has her gifts. That’ll be super important when we start talking about Just One: Weight of the World (third book), as it won’t only feature Rebecca but some other Jordan characters.
Your Thoughts and Predictions
That’s all for today’s segment of Character Introduction, brought to you by this writer’s love for her creations. Next week, I must let Dominic Dimitrov pop in here because he’s my funny guy. For Dom, I’ll say for now he’s the eldest siblings, Ellie’s friend and an amazing trainer when it comes to alien gifts.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and predictions on Rebecca. What could her gifts be? What other Jordan characters could be joining us? What do you think of Rebecca and Felicity so far? Personally, I love the two. But let your imagination run while!
