Character Introduction
Welcome to the fifth segment of Character Introduction blog posts. This week, I want to take the time to introduce you to one of my favourite male characters to write (and I have written a few during my time as both a role-player and a fan fiction writer.
Dominic is another member of the alien crew within the Just One universe.

A year older than the rest of the crew, Dom is eighteen and is just finishing school. He’s the eldest of three siblings, they being Cameron and Felicity. He was adopted alongside the two, but they’ve always known this quite wasn’t their connection as everyone assumed. You see, Dom came into this world with emerald green eyes and pink hair riddled with highlights while the twins have piercing blues with raven-black hair.
It’s hard to pinpoint a face for Dom. I’ve been settled into for Alex Pettyfer for a while.
He has an appetite like nothing you’ve ever seen, and while all aliens have big appetites for odd combinations, Dominic is the one that beats them all. He doesn’t usually let much get in the way of his food, even serious conversations…
It’s not always clear what motivates Dominic. He doesn’t much care for his future, and he’s spent the majority of his life trying to figure out where he comes from. I’ve never felt his interest was anything other than curiosity and looking for a connection he never quite had with the twins (as they had to each other). He’ll get that. Not just in Just One, as a very special someone will finally return to his life, but also in Just One: Weight of the World, where I focus more on Dom and his future.
Dominic hails from the world called Vetri, owes his features to the Ferroan species that his mother comes from. Most people assume he dyes his hair, and the young alien prefers it so. It’s assumed he’s here as a protector to our favourite couple, especially considering their status in the past life, but you’d be surprised that the reason Dom is with us on Earth is far more personal and endearing, and to do with his mother.
There’s a few things that make Dom stand out from the rest. His physical features definitely come first place for this, but there’s also his gift of passing on knowledge; he’s a gifted teacher and guide to other aliens as they learn how to use their gifts. He also possesses a very unique gift of manipulating element, which he’ll learn later in time is a higher level of gift.
You may have noticed there’s no mention of a love interest for Dominic. That’s because he doesn’t have one, not really, in Just One. His love story begins much later, which wasn’t truly on purpose, but for a long time, I have known his soul belongs to someone special, but that someone will not be making an appearance in Just One.
The love of his life goes by Ren, and lives in San Francisco. She’s a human girl with a small percentage of alien DNA, descended from a Ryctorian (same as Ellie). She has a whole destiny of her own, but I won’t tell you anything else about her until the time comes… in the meantime, know that Ren is coming, and Dom has his own story coming.
For now, he might cause a bit of trouble for some of other couples, but nothing to serious.
That’s all for today’s segment of Character Introduction, brought to you by this writer’s love for her creations. I’m super exited for next week, when you’ll finally get to meet Kivana Eli Xothorn.
What do you think of Dominic so far? He’s been great fun to write, and I can’t wait for you to get to know him in the story. The young man is sure to win over some hearts along the way. I’d love to hear your predictions on Dominic, whatever they may be. Thoughts on his love interest Ren so far? I absolutely love that girl, but I tried to give as little as possible spoilers to just who she is and what her significance will be in Just One: Weight of the World. You’ll just have to wait to hear more about her.
