This is Kivana Eli

Character Introduction

Seventeen years in, there’s no way to tell if Kivana Eli was the first idea for this fan fiction or if she came through writing as I tried to figure out how the story would go. I know one thing – from the first moment I decided Kate Beckinsale was my dream cast for her back then, this has never changed.

Welcome to the sixth segment of Character Introduction, where I had purposely let a few others ahead as I lightly mentioned her throughout other blog posts and quotes.

General Introduction

Kivana Eli (pronounced “Ellie”) Xothorn brings together Eveleen and Valerie, the reason for their dreams. She is the past life they have to discover. She’s always been my second leading lady and the one with her own love story that directly interferes with Ellie and Cam. Just One is written as the girls discovering their past life, Kivana Eli. Earlier drafts featured more of that past life, but through edits, I cut down to more relevant events needed to understand what was.

Hints about the Sequels

The reason for this is simple. After I tell you what happens to Ellie and Val, then also Kivana Eli and Zannder on Earth, and after I tell you about Ellie and Cam again, I’ll be going back to the past and giving the full story of what happened on Hadin.

Physical Appearance

Kivana Eli is 5’7’’ (1.7 m), which I’ve kept throughout my comparison between her and Ellie (and Valerie). More importantly, Kivana Eli had enlarged black irises, common on Ryctor when it existed. A little sneak peek into what she learns over time is that Ryctorians believed their eyes were the way they were because the first man infected by the planet’s waters was Vetri, whose irises were average size black… In the case of Dominic, we’ve seen that despite being born on said planet, the man had his mother’s Ferroan features. This is not the case with Ryctorian, as it is the far more dominant side, especially regarding eyes.

Her Story

Kivana Eli was born as her mother’s heir and intended to be an only child. Yet, for reasons unknown to her people, she was born with a twin brother named Corran, with whom she shared a strong bond. When their parents were murdered, the twins were spared and taken to Hadin, where both love stories begin.

Her future was set with the man she loved until one person interfered and destroyed it, but Kivana Eli had been too hard-broken to recognize the emerging threat. For love, not vengeance, Eveleen is told by her adoptive mother as she begins her journey, which is an intended message for Kivana Eli as she returns.

In terms of her gifts, anything our clones can do, Kivana Eli can do and more. Her mother was regarded as the living goddess among their people, and so was the original Ellie to some (in secret). Her return will be a chance to ensure peace for her system, and she hopes for a happy ending for herself and Zannder…

Careful with Spoilers

There is a lot more I could tell you about Kivana Eli. In writing the Just One series, I’ve built a rich background and many details about her, which would be significant spoiler alerts if I continued. Hopefully, this has been intriguing enough to keep you in suspense for what will come in both Just One and Just One: Edge of Never (the second book).

Next Week…

And we’ve reached the end of another Character Introduction segment, brought to you by this writer’s love for her creations. This week, we’ll be leaving the Just One universe for a short while as I introduce Katrine Van-Derveld, the inspiration for The Wolf’s Heir: Katrine’s Awakening that is currently a contestant in the Something or Other Publishing short story competition, and which I loved writing as I took out a long time Star Wars roleplay character into a universe of her own as I had long envisioned myself doing.

Call to Action

What did you think of Kivana Eli so far? Are you as excited to learn about her story as I was writing it? Do you have any predictions for her? What are you most looking forward to about her story? There are plenty of questions, but I’ll leave it at that. If you have any questions about her, please leave them in the comments below.
